This is an absolutely divine place to eat out in Osoyoos. We loved everything about it: open terrace is tastefully decorated and shaded by the grape vines, crazy tasty dishes freshly cooked by the owner, authentic Thai atmosphere. Dolci Thai is licensed and serve any type of cocktail one can imagine, including Thai beer. We ordered: spring rolls, coconut prawn, chicken satay, yellow curry, Thai omelette. Appetizers were mouthwatering delicious: coconut prawns were sautéed in coconut milk with spices, spring rolls were perfectly tasty and crisp, chicken satay with peanut sauce was juicy and flavorful. Thai omelette was perfect combination of eggs, onion, tomatoes fried as a thin crepe and than rolled on a bed of rice. Yellow curry was recommended to us by the owner, and she was right calling it a "Hooker". Once you tried yellow curry made by Leena, you will be hooked, it is so good! Each spoon of the curry brings you closer to Nirvana, the unparalleled joy from food experience.
We are highly recommend this restaurant for a visit. Warm thanks to Leena and her team, wishing many years in business and prosperity!

Following glorious reviews on Google we decided to try steaks, thinking that local butcher would have better cuts of meat than chain store. We purchased a pack of Rib eye steaks for $34. Steaks appeared to be fresh visually.
When we got home, seasoned them with salt and pepper and grilled as per usual. All of them shriveled, as they were cut very thin. The steaks turn out chewy with a lot of connective tissue (the gristle). Those were not a Rib eye steak as advertised, but rather cheap marinating steak sold as Rib Eyes. Waste of time and money, 100% disappointed. Conviva Bistro Cuisine comes up in a Google search as a top restaurant is Osoyoos. We are not sure how that happen, but Conviva is actually the worst place to eat in Osoyoos. Let me explain why we have such a strong opinion.
We phoned a day in advance and made a dinner reservation. When we arrived exactly on time, the lady with a bleached mop on her head checked the reservation book, found the reservation and told us to seat down in the waiting area because they don't have available tables. We looked at one another questioning what kind of hospitality is that? While waiting for 20 min we had a thought to leave, but unfortunately made a poor decision to stay. After 20-25 minutes waiting in a lobby, we were asked if we would like to purchase a drink at the bar while we are waiting for our pre-booked table. We nodded and were allowed to move onto a terrace to a table. It was announced: "This is somebody else's table, but you have a drink or two while waiting for your table." At that point I really wanted to leave, but stayed for the company. We had our drinks ordered: house wines. After we finished our wine we were asked if we wanted to order more, we declined and were transferred to "our" table. "Our" table was a table close to the fridge, outdoor grill and serving table. What a catch! After we ordered food we waited for another hour, as they managed to burn pizza twice. Eventually the order arrived: hard as a rock Goat cheese and Duck shavings pizza, Pan seared scallops with wild tiger prawns. Rock hard pizza was horrible, literally horrible. Scallop dish was eatable: 3 scallops and 2 tiny prawns on a bed of 3 table spoons risotto. I wish people wrote honest reviews about their experience with Conviva, we would not wasted 2 hours of our time and $127. By the time we left Conviva still hungry and very disappointed, most sit-down restaurants were already closed. So, the final verdict-hopefully they will close down soon enough. |
