Suki's Hair Salon, Victoria

The moment I stepped foot in Suki's salon, I felt taken care of, just like visiting an old friend.
The biggest part of the experience was my stylist, Emilie. She listen carefully to my wishes and asked questions about the hair color and the way I want my hair being cut. The color turned out great, the cut was as sleek as I imagined it. Emilie's attention to detail and meticulous work shined though the end result. I am so glad I have chosen Suki's salon for my visit. This is the best hair color and a cut I got in 2021.

Experience at JOEY Shipyards starts with a flute of bubbly champagne on the house, while you are waiting at your table for server to take your order. The restaurant premises are impeccable and the atmosphere is upbeat. Patio tables have a great view of the Lower Lonsdale waterfront.
The menu has a great selection for drinks, appetizers, main dishes. Everything is prepared fresh from the high grade carefully selected ingredients. Their meals are pure delight! Pictured below is a Yellowfin Tuna salad- the perfectly seared tuna, mango, avocado, crunchy peanuts come together in a flavorful dance.
JOEY Shipyards is on a "repeat" list.

La Marqueza, Taco and Market, Osoyoos

Tasty Tacos that are prepared on a fly, waiting time is literally 10-15 minutes! We loved upbeat service, good variety of Mexican soda and tasty tacos. The portions are the right size: not too huge, but not small either. We ordered 2 tacos with premium meat and quesadilla with beef. All dishes come with refried beans, sour cream, salsa and a dipping hot sauce.
This is a perfect place to pick up food after a beach or before going to the beach: fast, easy to eat on the beach, delicious.

Campo Marina restaurant deserves kudos for meeting client's special requests: we asked for a gluten free option for Petti Di Pollo Parmegiano and it was absolutely gluten free!
The Petti Di Pollo Parmegiano and Ptti Di Pollo Marsala were absolutely delicious. We ordered for a take out, so can't comment on dining in atmosphere.
Highly recommend the food and friendly service.

Dolci Thai Bistro, Osoyoos

This is an absolutely divine place to eat out in Osoyoos. We loved everything about it: open terrace is tastefully decorated and shaded by the grape vines, crazy tasty dishes freshly cooked by the owner, authentic Thai atmosphere.
Dolci Thai is licensed and serve any type of cocktail one can imagine, including Thai beer.
We ordered: spring rolls, coconut prawn, chicken satay, yellow curry, Thai omelette.
Picture
Appetizers were mouthwatering delicious: coconut prawns were sautéed in coconut milk with spices, spring rolls were perfectly tasty and crisp, chicken satay with peanut sauce was juicy and flavorful. Thai omelette was perfect combination of eggs, onion, tomatoes fried as a thin crepe and than rolled on a bed of rice. Yellow curry was recommended to us by the owner, and she was right calling it a "Hooker". Once you tried yellow curry made by  Leena, you will be hooked, it is so good! Each spoon of the curry brings you closer to Nirvana, the unparalleled joy from food experience.
We are highly recommend this restaurant for a visit.
Warm thanks to Leena and her team, wishing many years in business and prosperity!

Johnny's Fresh Meat and Deli, Kelowna

Following glorious reviews on Google we decided to try steaks, thinking that local butcher would have better cuts of meat than chain store. We purchased a pack of Rib eye steaks for $34. Steaks appeared to be fresh visually.
When we got home, seasoned them with salt and pepper and grilled as per usual. All of them shriveled, as they were cut very thin. The steaks turn out chewy with a lot of connective tissue (the gristle). Those were not a Rib eye steak as advertised, but rather cheap marinating steak sold as Rib Eyes.
Waste of time and money, 100% disappointed.

Conviva Bistro Cuisine, Osoyoos, BC

Conviva Bistro Cuisine comes up in a Google search as a top restaurant is Osoyoos. We are not sure how that happen, but Conviva is actually the worst place to eat in Osoyoos. Let me explain why we have such a strong opinion.
We phoned a day in advance and made a dinner reservation. When we arrived exactly on time, the lady with a bleached mop on her head checked the reservation book, found the reservation and told us to seat down in the waiting area because they don't have available tables. We looked at one another questioning what kind of hospitality is that? While waiting for 20 min we had a thought to leave, but unfortunately made a poor decision to stay. After 20-25 minutes waiting in a lobby, we were asked if we would like to purchase a drink at the bar while we are waiting for our pre-booked table. We nodded and were allowed to move onto a terrace to a table. It was announced: "This is somebody else's table, but you have a drink or two while waiting for your table." At that point I really wanted to leave, but stayed for the company. We had our drinks ordered: house wines. After we finished our wine we were asked if we wanted to order more, we declined and were transferred to "our" table. "Our" table was a table close to the fridge, outdoor grill and serving table. What a catch! After we ordered food we waited for another hour, as they managed to burn pizza twice.
Eventually the order arrived: hard as a rock Goat cheese and Duck shavings pizza, Pan seared scallops with wild tiger prawns. Rock hard pizza was horrible, literally horrible. Scallop dish was eatable: 3 scallops and 2 tiny prawns on a bed of 3 table spoons risotto.

I wish people wrote honest reviews about their experience with Conviva, we would not wasted 2 hours of our time and $127. By the time we left Conviva still hungry and very disappointed, most sit-down restaurants were already closed.  So, the final verdict-hopefully they will close down soon enough.

The Broken Whisk, Agassiz BC

The Broken Whisk is a hidden gem in Agassiz, as it doesn't look like anything special from the outside. However it has a very special atmosphere inside where you are greeted with an open smile, cheered by upbeat music, welcomed by comfy seating sofas and tastefully decorated interior.
If you will be staying in the Harrison Hot Springs area, The Broken Whisk is just a convenient  fifteen minute drive. We wanted to try something different and came across The Broken Whisk.
We ordered a Pickled beet and goat cheese salad, Caesar salad wrap, coffee and soda. The salad would be good on a day, when you want something light and savory. Pickled beet and goat cheese are indeed the main ingredients and I like them both, so was very satisfied.

Caesar salad wrap is served either with fries or salad, we have chosen fries. It was freshly prepared and very tasty.
Overall very good experience, would definitely go back.

Milos Greek Taverna, Harrison Hot Springs BC

Milos Greek Taverna is conveniently located along Esplanade Street, just a few blocks away from Harrison Hot Springs. It has an outdoor patio, making dining in possible.
The Restaurant is newly renovated/upgraded with attention to detail and taking into consideration customer's comfort. We were warmly greeted and seated by our waiter. Our questions were answered and we received meaningful recommendations about meals.

We ordered Greek coffee, Roast Lamb, Milos special Burger. Greek Coffee is done right and served in a cup from Turkey- I personally appreciate attention to details.
Picture
Roasted lamb comes with a Greek salad, roasted vegetables, rice and Greek potatoes roasted in lemon juice. Everything was served in about 20 minutes, fresh, hot and tasty. Delicious juicy soft lamb just melts in your mouth, providing so much needed nourishment.

Milos Special burger was definitely freshly made, as it was juicy and fluffy. The fries were perfect as well. Overall it was a very good experience, definitely would return.

Black Forest Steak and Schnitzel Restaurant, Harrison Springs, BC

Picture
Black Forest Steak and Schnitzel restaurant experience starts with a friendly service-we were greeted by the door and taken to a free table immediately. The restaurant is always busy, but it is staffed adequately to serve the large volume of clientele. The restaurant has a nice outdoor heated patio overlooking the Harrison Lake.
Picture
The Caesar drink goes well with meat dishes and it is a classic cocktail, which could be used as a measuring stick. The Caesar was well done!
The best part was food- it truly was the feast worth waiting for! The old fashioned German dishes done to perfection! The portion is large enough for two people, but so tasty that usually is devoured by one person.
Picture
Schnitzel Champignon comes topped with Béarnaise sauce and accompanied by sautéed vegetables and red cabbage. The combination of schnitzel with sauce is delicious, vegetables are soft flavorful. The potatoes are done on the skillet with butter, that makes them slightly crunchy and loaded with flavor.
Picture
German cuisine classic- Pork Hock. Oven roasted pork hock with delicious gravy, potatoes, vegetables and red cabbage. Every ingredient plays a role in this dish and it tastes perfect all together! This isn't a an every day meal due to calorie count, but rather once in a while feast. It tastes so good, it makes rainy grey day seem like a lovely adventure.
Overall Black Forest Restaurant stands out in three categories: service, food, atmosphere.
