At the time of a visit we thought this will be a raving review, but after both of us got stomach problems after eating the garlic pork dish, our opinion has changed. I checked Google reviews for Thai Terrace and everyone seem to rate 5 out of 5. Maybe we got an end of the roll deal? Who knows? The location of the restaurant is downtown Kelowna, intersection of Water St and 210 Lawrence St. The restaurant has a terrace with a view of City Park and the lake, which will be pretty nice in the spring/summer. The atmosphere is casual, very laid back, we were greeted warmly. The seating is comfortable with dark purple velvet bench and velvet cushions. The menu offers some authentic Thai dishes. The truth is, Thailand has so many varieties of a seafood, noodle and rice dishes that it wouldn't be simple to integrate all that diapason into North American reality. Nevertheless, most known dishes are presented by Green Papaya Salad, Tom Yam soup, Tom Kha Kai soup (menu calls it coconut hot&sour soup), Pad Thai, Mussaman Curry, Red/Green Curry. There is even an authentic Thai beer on the menu! People that visited Thailand will notice that menu is missing some of the market favorites: fish in salt, BBQ chicken marinated in special sauce, prawns and most seafood. We ordered garlic pork stir fry under signature dishes with jasmine rice and coffee. The pork tasted OK, except lettuce was yellowish. Rice was made to perfection.
